You can almost see Simon Cowell give a knowing smirk as his pregnant girlfriend is officially free.

His girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, is officially divorced from former husband, real estate developer Andrew Silverman. The settlement included joint custody of their 7-year-old son and $2 million settlement payment to Lauren, DailyMail reports.

Lauren Silverman made good on her promise to finish the divorce proceedings without burning bridges with her former husband.

In a statement released to media outlets in August, Lauren said: "I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son, I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this."

Lauren, who is pregnant with Simon Cowell's first child, is set to hold a baby shower following this development.

The "X Factor" creator seems to be all in as he promised to be there when Lauren delivers the baby, even if he is not very "good with blood and guts." This is contrary to his earlier statements when he said that he won't be watching when Lauren is in labor.

How will he cope? "I'll just try not to look too far down."

He even likened the experience as going to a restaurant and not having to watch the cook prepare your food. Simon however draws the line on cutting his baby son's umblical cord.

If you feel that the child is so lucky being the sole heir to Simon's millions, don't be. His celebrity judge is still on the fence whether to leave his £225 million to his son or just donate the whole thing to charity.

Simon said it's his philosophy that the next generation should be able to stand on its own.

"Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know," he told Esquire magazine in September.
