Shinhwa Members Extend Formal Apology to Fans for Andy's Gambling Scandal, Singer Removed from Group's TV Program 'Shinhwa Broadcast'

The Shinhwa members extended their sincere apologies to fans for Andy's recent gambling scandal.

On the most recent episode of Shinhwa Broadcast, Shinhwa members Eric, Hyesung, Junjin and Minwoo extended their apologies for the illegal gambling incident that their fellow member Andy has gotten himself mixed up in.

"We deeply apologize for the previous incident regarding on of our members," they began the formal broadcasted apology.

Despite the negative nature of the viewer message, the remaining Shinhwa members appeared optimistic about the future of the group and their program.

"In times like this, it's more important for us to stay committed and run even harder," they explained. "We will work harder to pay you back for your support and encouragement."

Andy left the show at the start of his police investigation, although some footage of him still aired as a part of Shinhwa Broadcast. However, starting with this week's episode, it appears he has been removed from the show entirely.

On November 14, the Seoul Central District Prosecution Office revealed the results of an ongoing investigation regarding several celebrities and illegal gambling activity. The prosecutors reportedly discovered Andy had gambled an estimated 40 million won (approximately $37,000).

The Shinhwa members' television apology comes after an official statement from Andy and the Shinhwa Company issued last month when the results of the investigation had been revealed.

Andy follows member Dongwan, who left Shinhwa Broadcast in October before the start of season two. Whereas Andy was forced to leave due to his legal issues, Dongwan voluntarily removed himself from the project in order to better focus on his acting career.
