Guardians Of The Galaxy Characters: Rocket Raccoon Is ‘Seen As A Cockney Accent Sometimes,’ Bradley Cooper Told Director James Gunn

Guardians of the Galaxy characters are very much talked about because of the star-studded cast who portray the roles of the animated movie characters.

Director James Gunn included Bradley Cooper to lend his voice to the character of Rocket Raccoon, despite not being familiar with the comics. Cooper admitted that his unfamiliarity with the comics did not stop him from loving his character.

"Well, I like James (Gunn) a lot and it really was about him and then talking to him about the guy. I wasn't familiar with the comic at all and then I really loved it, and I love that character. He's incredible that character, he told Collider."

He continued saying: "You know, one thing we debated was he's seen as a cockney accent sometimes. So we talked about whether we'd do that or do this sort of other guy from the city a little bit."

Meanwhile, director James Gunn jokingly told MTV News during the red carper premiere for "Thor: The Dark World" that Cooper is sitting in the studio "until his voice is sore and his eyes are bloodshot, and he's bleeding from his nose and ears."

Fortunately, Gunn was just kidding as Bradley Cooper looks perfectly fine when he attended the press con for his movie "American Hustle," and that he had nothing but good words to say about Gunn.

"It's been great. The great thing about [Gunn] is that I tried to set the ground rules early. I said, 'Look, you don't have to sugar-coat anything. Just tell me exactly what you want,' " Cooper shared with MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I think he was basically going like, 'Did you think I would do anything else?' "

Despite Gunn mentioning that the CGI raccoon would be the heart of the sci-fi super hero team, Cooper believes that Chris Pratt's character, Star-Lord calling him "Han Solo and Luke combined," would be the team's emotional center.

But Rocket and Star-Lord together is the perfect combination to balance things out, even comparing the duo to the classic film "Goodfellas" saying, "I think Rocket is dynamic," Cooper admitted. "He's the sort of Joe Pesci in 'Goodfellas' guy. You need Henry Hill."

Guardians of the Galaxy movie will hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
