Paul Walker Last Interview – Late Actor Considers ‘Hours’ As His Best Performance; ‘Fast And Furious’ Star Despised Being A Teen Heartthrob!

Paul Walker passed away at the tender age of 40. Yet, he has logged in quite a lot of screen time. It's a shame he was not able to stick around to see audience reaction for his 'best' performance.

In an interview with Crave Online(their last interview with him), Walker shares his thoughts on "Hours" as well as some of the notable phases of his career.

Paul Walker was always candid with his interviews, sharing as much as he can. Most people who know him share that he really loved acting-the craft and not much of the perks.

From Crave Online:

Is "Hours" his own "Castaway?"

I don't know. I think "Hours" for me was, I've been really fortunate in the industry. It happened to me early on and I didn't really want it. It just kind of fell in my lap. For once I feel like - I mean, it's happened a couple times before - but really committing to something and then winning so to speak, on merit, on effort, just hard work, it feels good. I read it and I was really intimidated. I was like, "Well, it's kind of sink or swim time, buddy. If you want to do this one, let's really go and see what you can do." The reaction and responses have been somewhat favorable for sure, but more than that it was really just an opportunity for me to test myself. To be able to sit back and go, "Hey, look. When you apply yourself, you can relax, when you have something you can really sink your teeth into." So it's cool.

On his numerous haters

PW: "I don't know. There was a time where I was much more affected by it than I wanted to admit so I wouldn't look at anything, because if you want to believe the good stuff, you have to believe the bad stuff. Everyone's entitled to an opinion and the fact of the matter is you're not going to win over everybody. When I was younger, I was so damn pretty, I looked like a girl, so I understand guys didn't like me. Their girlfriends wanted to sleep with me. Shit, I hated those guys. I hated Christian Slater when I was a kid for the same reason. I couldn't stand Keanu Reeves when I was a kid for the same reason.

On being a Teen heartthrob:

PW:"I haaated it. I haaated it so much, doing the teen magazines and that sort of thing. I did everything I could just short of completely sabotaging [it]. Even to this day there's times where I do that. I go into complete isolation, I don't do e-mails, I don't return phone calls. I really wanted it to go away because I believe in my heart of hearts that the way that it came to me, without even wanting it, that if I wanted it later that I could earn it back."

There's something to be said about earning something as opposed to it being placed in your lap. When something just comes too easy because people go, "Oh, you're the good looking guy. We want you doing this s--t." I knew damn well what was going on. I knew it wasn't because of my hard work.
