Golden Globe Nominees 2014 were announced today and David O' Russell's American Hustle received seven nominations, the highest for the season. Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave also emerged a leader with equal number of nominations.

Interestingly, all the four American Hustle cast members, namely Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were nominated for Best Actor Male or Female in either Leading or Supporting categories. It is a special distinction for American Hustle where all its major characters have found a place in the Golden Globe Awards 2014 nominations.

Hunger Games Catching Fire star Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for Golden Globe Best Actress in a Supporting Role with corresponding nomination for American Hustle co-star Bradley Cooper. 

Christian Bale and Amy Adams received nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical and Best Actress, Comedy/Musical, respectively.

Jennifer Lawrence has been unanimously nominated in the best supporting actress category across all the major awards this season. She is the frontrunner for Academy Awards 2014 Nominations, along with Lupita Nyong'o of 12 Years a Slave, who is considered her toughest competition in the race to the Oscars.

The Silver Linings Playbook actress reacted to her Golden Globe nomination, 'Thank you to the HFPA. This is so exciting. I'm thrilled that the film received so many nominations and that I get to share this with the rest of the cast,' as published in US Weekly.

In addition to the four distinct nominations for the cast members, American Hustle has also been nominated for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Director categories. With seven major nominations, including the Big Five at the Golden Globe Awards, American Hustle seems all set for the upcoming Oscar awards season.

 The film will release next weekend on December 20, 2013 and analysts predict that awards buzz along with Hunger Games hype may boost box office collections of the movie, at least in the first week.
