'The Voice’ Season 5 Winner Tessanne Chin Had A Secret Marriage PLUS Other Things About The Newly-Crowned Songstress

'The Voice' Season 5 winner Tessanne Chin wowed the crowd and in return, she took home the coveted title, a recording contract, and a $100,000 cash prize. Apart from having a penchant for singing, 'Sexiest Man Alive' Adam Levine's team member did interesting things in her life.

Chin is no stranger to the spotlight

Chin transferred to England with her family when she was 11 years old. She experienced culture shock but it did not stop her from living a normal life. Her father built a studio in her house without initially knowing that his two daughters Tami and Tessanne were interested with music.

The two eventually became musical artists and started recording and touring. In 2010, the sisters were featured on a television program segment called 'Island Stylee'. The host then predicted that the younger Chin could fill a stadium.

Chin already released an album prior to joining 'The Voice' Season 5.

On January 4,2011, she released her debut album 'In Between Words'. On her Facebook page, she expressed her excitement: |Omg I've waited my whole life for this and now it's really happening:) !!!"

Chin is naturally a shy woman.

According to Tami, her sister is a fun-loving girl but when she's not in front of the camera, she has a tendency to be shy. Nonetheless, she opted to share her life to her fans by launching her website on December 23, 2011. The website is likewise her way of thanking her fans for supporting her.

Chin secretly married her husband and only announced it on their first anniversary.

Chin married Michael Anthony Cuffe Jr. on March 19, 2011 at the Coyaba Hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica after being engaged for one year. She only publicized her wedding during their first anniversary by posting one of their nuptials photos.
