Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are dating both off-screen and on-screen, for their upcoming movie, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Emma Stone revealed new details about the relationship between their characters Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.

"She saves him more than he saves her," Emma Stone told TV3.ie, referring to her character Gwen Stacy and Andrew Garfield's character Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

"She's incredibly helpful to Spider-Man... He's the muscle, she's the brains," Emma added.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have been dating off-screen since they met on the set of the first "Amazing Spider-Man" movie in 2011.

Emma also revealed that there were some tough times when filming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," mostly issues that were caused by Emma's own fears.

"On [New York] night shoots, in the middle of big crowds, I get spooked," she admitted to Total Film, TV3.ie reports.

"I get a little distracted. I just have a really fatalistic, weird brain. So I let myself get kind of creeped out. And bruising - that's different in other movies. You get bruised on a movie like this. But it's worth it."

We hope Andrew Garfield was there to comfort his girlfriend in the spooky night!

The 25-year-old also said that while many are familiar with Peter Parker/Spider-Man and his relationship with Mary Jane in the comic books, Emma's Gwen Stacy is a less talked-about character.

"Everyone's like, 'Oh, Mary Jane! I know Mary Jane.' But Gwen's been a funny one to play because only really passionate comic-book fans know the story," she explained.

"And that's been a cool introduction to the comic-book world and to being in the boys' club."

"Weirdly, I don't get that many super fans in my day-to-day life," Emma added.

"I thought more people would say something about Gwen."

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" hits theaters May 2, 2014.
