Batman Superman movie casting rumor news: The upcoming "Batman Vs Superman" movie is heating up the speculation and angering the fans. Yesterday it was reported that rumors are flying that  Joaquin Phoenix will play villain Lex Luthor in the new Batman Vs. Superman movie. Today, we learn that Ben Affleck tinkering with it.

The new Batman vs Superman movie is getting a once-over by Chris Terrio, who wrote Ben Affleck's Argot. The Oscar-winning screenwriter was hired to polish up the screenplay by David S Goyer, who wrote this year's megablockbuster "Man of Steel" before it shoots next year. The "Batman Vs. Superman movie isn't set to hit theaters until July 2015.

Ben Affleck caused a mad uproar when he was cast as the caped crusader this summer. Now it looks to fans like he's taking the reins. Chris Terrio worked closely with Affleck on "Argo."

It also came out that Evangeline Lily was almost cast as Wonder Woman in a movie that was never made. "The Hobbit" star said "I actually went in and met on Wonder Woman at one point. Before the thing fell apart. That was early, that was first season of Lost before I went, wait a minute, I don't know if I want to do this!"

Variety reported that Joaquin Phoenix is in line to take on the role of Lex Luthor, Superman's main nemesis.  Phoenix has avoided blockbusters for the past few years, preferring to stretch his acting talents in smaller prestige movies but Warner Bros wants him. Especially after his performance in the movie "Her." Phoenix is also reported to be considering a role in the upcoming Gus Van Sant film "Sea of Trees."

Gal Godot will be playing Wonder Woman in the "Batman vs. Superman" movie. Gossip went around that Jason Momoa was being looked at for a role in the new Batman-Superman movie. Callan Mulvey has also been linked to the film.
