The Ant-Man movie has narrowed down to a single candidate. Paul Rudd, fast becoming a Hollywood A-lister, may cross the line by headlining his own Super Hero movie.

His rival, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has previously confirmed negotiations with Marvel for Ant Man, has already committed to Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" adaptation at Warner Bros. JGL recently starred in Warner Bros' "The Dark Knight Rises." He was set to continue the series, but Warner decided to reboot the entire universe.

Paul Rudd recently brushed off the "Ant-Man" allegations in a red carpet interview with Absolute Radio "Oh, that's all rumor, man. There's nothing I know. Sorry." However, reports from The Wrap have mentioned that he is already in negotiations. No official statement was released from Marvel not Paul Rudd's camp, but the actor was noticeably slimmer during the "Anchorman 2" premiere. The assumption is that he is gearing up for the super hero role.

There are at least 2 people who have donned the Ant-man persona in the comics. The first one was Henry Pym, the inventor of the 'nano-tech' that causes him to shrink (and actually, grow as he also has the alter ego of 'Giant Man). The others are Scott Lang, a thief who stole the technology and used it for crime. ScreenRant has confirmed through their sources that Henry Pym is the version we'll get.

It is presumed that "Ant-Man" will become Marvel's science and tech guy. Henry Pym was the main tinkerer for The Avengers. He would often invent weapons and gadgets for himself and the team, as Tony Stark is pre-occupied with his own armor development, his billion dollar business and his women (at least in the comics). In fact, it was Henry Pym who created the robot known as Ultron, reportedly the main nemesis in the second "Avengers" movie.

Since Ant-Man has a July 31, 2015 release date, it will run just two weeks after the "Batman Vs Superman" movie.
