Tom Cruise And Brad Pitt To Reunite In Racing-Themed Film ‘Go Like Hell’? Will There Be A Rivalry Between Them?

Do Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt get along in real life? Such is the question by several fans of the actors who are both in their 50s yet still manage to have a slew of films. According to recent reports, the two actors are asked to star in 'Go Like Hell'.

If both parties will be able to seal a deal, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt will be playing lots of action scenes in 20th Century Fox's car racing movie. The film is based on A.J. Baime's novel entitled "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans".

While there is no official word yet about the movie's story line, the novel's synopsis provides a preview of what will take place in the film:

"By the early 1960s, the Ford Motor Company, built to bring automobile transportation to the masses, was falling behind. Young Henry Ford II, who had taken the reins of his grandfather's company with little business experience to speak of, knew he had to do something to shake things up. Baby boomers were taking to the road in droves, looking for speed not safety, style not comfort. Meanwhile, Enzo Ferrari whose cars epitomized style, lorded it over the European racing scene. He crafted beautiful sports cars, "science fiction on wheels," but was also called "the Assassin" because so many drivers perished while racing them.

'Go Like Hell' tells the remarkable story of how Henry Ford II, with the help of a young visionary named Lee Iacocca and a former racing champion turned engineer, Carroll Shelby, concocted a scheme to reinvent the Ford company. They would enter the high-stakes world of European car racing, where an adventurous few threw safety and sanity to the wind. They would design, build, and race a car that could beat Ferrari at his own game at the most prestigious and brutal race in the world, something no American car had ever done."

Based on the novel's description, 'Go Like Hell' will be focusing on the rivalry of two car manufacturers. Will Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt play the role of the two icons?

A script for the film has been officially delivered to Pitt to find out whether the 50th birthday celebrant will take the project. According to reports, the actor is very meticulous when it comes to scripts that even 'World War Z's' script went through several drafts because of his suggestions.
