IU Scores an All-Kill with Her Latest Single 'Friday'

As part of her upcoming Modern Times repackage album, IU released the track "Friday" on December 20 and it proved to be another instant success for the young singer.

About two hours after the track's release, "Friday" was spotted at the top of several music charts, and within a day it achieved the coveted 'all-kill' status.

"Friday" ranked number one on the eight major music charts in South Korea - MelOn, Bugs, Olleh, Soribada, Mnet, Daum, Naver, and Monkey3.

IU dropped Modern Times on October 8 and sold a reported 2.9 million digital copies in its very first week. By the end of November album sales were said to be close to 5 million in South Korea alone.

The limited edition repacked version, Modern Times - Epilogue, is scheduled for a December 26 release and will include a never-before-seen behind the scenes video, two concert DVD set, as well as a special photo booklet. Only 10,000 copies will be released.

In addition to the instant success of "Friday," another song from the talented singer, "Crayon," is also having a strong showing in the charts. The top ten song comes from the soundtrack to her currently airing television drama Pretty Man.

For now, while eager IU fans wait to get their hands on the special album, it is obvious from the chart rankings that they are thoroughly enjoying the new singles "Friday" and "Crayon."
