Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Loses a Close Cousin; Abhishek Bachchan Cancels Appearances To Support Bollywood Icon Wife

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the iconic Bollywood actress known as "the most beautiful woman in the world," lost a young cousin who was very close to her. Aishwarya Rai's husband, the actor Abhishek Bachchan, cancelled all his appearance commitments to be with his wife.

According to media reports coming out of India a source said "Aishwarya's cousin died at a very early age. The name of the cousin and reason for the death is yet to be revealed. The Bachchan clan has reached the family to give their condolences."

The families of Aishwarya Rai and Bahishek Bachchan will be together for the cremation and to perform the last rituals. Aishwarya is staying close to the family of his cousin, who has not been identified.

The 37-year-old Bollywood star Abhishek cancelled an appearance a promotional event for "Dhyoom 3" and a launch of the Kingfisher Calendar where he was to meet with the industrialist Vijay Mallya to be with Aishwarya.

A source told Indian news "Abhishek was halfway through Mandwa when he received a call from his better-half Aishwarya. Sounding upset, Ash informed Jr Bachchan about the sad demise of her close cousin."

Aishwarya Rai is internationally known as "most beautiful woman in the world." She is best known to American audiences for the films "The Last Legion" with Colin Firth, "Bride and Prejudice" and "Mistress of Spices." Abishek Bachan is a star on the rise. His latest film, "Dhoom 3" hit theaters this weekend and is on the way to becoming a box office smash.
