iPad Pro Rumors: Larger iPad Will Allegedly Replace Apple's MacBook Air When It Launches In October

If you have been keeping pace with the numerous iPad Pro rumors, you may have noticed that reports are becoming more and more ridiculous. In a new report, the 12.9" tablet will allegedly replace Apple's popular MacBook Air laptops.

According to a report from DigiTimes, the larger iPad which is often dubbed as either Pro or Maxi, is going boast powerful internals which would fall in between the MacBook Airs and Pros.

The tech website is also claiming that due to the tablet's screen size and more powerful processor, the upcoming iPad Pro could potentially replace the MacBook Air laptops as the ultra-portable computing device for Apple users. Aside from the lightning-fast performance, users would also be able to take advantage of the touch-enabled screen, a feature that current MacBooks do not have.

However, there are a lot of questions which would immediately arise in case this rumor pans out to be true. Which processor would Apple use for the iPad Pro? What about the price range? Would it still support cellular connectivity?

To conclude the report, DigiTimes also claims that the rumored 12.9" iPad will be launched sometime in October, while a larger iPhone could be announced as early as May next year.

Of course, we should all take these rumors with more than a pinch of salt until Apple confirms their validity.
