Good news football fans, Summit Entertainment has released the first trailer of the football film 'Draft Day.' The film stars Kevin Costner who plays the role of a manager who was tasked to rebuild a slumping team through the draft.

According to Beyond Hollywood, the plot of the film is:

"On the day of the NFL Draft, general manager Sonny Weaver (Costner) has the opportunity to save football in Cleveland when he trades for the number one pick. He must quickly decide what he's willing to sacrifice in pursuit of perfection as the lines between his personal and professional life become blurred on a life-changing day for a few hundred young men with dreams of playing in the NFL."

Draft Day co-writer Rajiv Joseph said that his movie is not something like a major league type but more of a character-driven film. Speaking to Cleveland.com, he said that the 2014 sports film won't be much of a stretch for the fans of Cleveland Browns, the NFL team where the story will revolve.

"It's a movie that takes place in one day. It's about the general manager of the Cleveland Browns. His professional and personal lives collide on the day of the NFL draft. He has these draft picks and he's trying to save his team, which is going down the drain. Not a big stretch for many Browns fans," he told the news portal in an interview last April.

"Honestly, we wrote it for ourselves. We didn't think anybody would want to do it. Our agents sent it around, and somehow it ended up on Ivan Reitman's desk. I am a huge fan of Ivan's. To meet him was a big thrill. He's a great guy to have on our side in this."

When asked about Kevin Costner's selection for the lead role, Joseph said that he is "perfect for this role and obviously has a sports-movie pedigree, with 'Bull Durham,' 'Tin Cup' and 'Field of Dreams.' He's a guy we're very excited to have on board."
