Kylie Minogue Gets A Lift on U.K.’s `The Voice’; Diminutive Diva Dazzles in Dizzying New Heights in New Chair

Kylie Minogue is a lot of things. She's hot, has a great voice and has had number one hits globally every decade since she started in the 1980s. But there's one thing Kylie Minogue isn't and that's tall. The "Can't Get You Out of My Head" singer is only five feet. Kylie has always proven that good things come in small packages, but what good is that if you can't see her?

U.K.'s "The Voice" fixed all that. No, they didn't pile on telephone books. They made Kylie a high chair. Kylie's red chair was fixed with a block of steps to help her climb into the rotating seat and stop her legs from dangling. The producers modified the spinning chair that Minogue sits in so she comes up as high as her co-coaches Ricky Wilson, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am. Producers hope Kylie will pull new fans. U.K.'s "The Voice" has been suffering poor ratings. The singing competition kicks off on January 11.

A source at The Voice said "The block of steps is really quite cute. We thought about lowering the chair but that would have been a headache because we would have had to redesign all of them or hers would have looked out of place. The block also gives her somewhere to rest her feet so they don't dangle.'

Kylie and Ricky Wilson, the singer of the Kaiser Chiefs were hired to take over for former coaches Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue. Emma Willis and Marvin Humes replaced host Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates.

At the time Kylie said "'I'm very excited. I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space! The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry and The Voice UK gives us all a part to play in that."
