Anime Freak News: "Sword Art Online II" anime has been activated for 2014. Crunchyroll announced that it will be joining in for the worldwide simulcast of a New Year's special extra edition of the Sword Art Online.

Starting this morning, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 8:00 am Pacific Time Crunchyroll users have been able to view the "Sword Art Online II" anime special episode alongside fans around the world. Fans can watch the "Sword Art Online II" anime extra edition at https://www.crunchyroll.com/sword-art-online.

The long expected Sword Art Online II anime "Extra Edition" special will feature a cameo appearance by Gun Gale Online character Sinon who will be voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro in the PSP and Vita games.

Sword Art Online comes from Reki Kawahara's original novels.  Sword Art Online II" features fictional multiplayer online game Gun Gale Online. Gun Gale trades in the swords for firearms, but doesn't skimp on knives and light sabers.

The synopsis of the Sword Art Online EXTRA EDITION says "Kirito and the others decide to go on an underwater quest within the world of ALO to grant Yui her wish to see a whale. As they all prepare for the quest, they face a shocking revelation...Leafa, or Suguha is afraid of water. So, Asuna and the other female members decide to teach Suguha how to swim at a pool in the real world. Meanwhile, Kirito was meeting somebody."

Sword Art Online EXTRA EDITION will be available for Crunchyroll audiences in North America, South America, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
