Paul Walker Coroner’s Report: No Drugs, No Alcohol, Car Driving Over 100 MPH in Crash

Paul Walker coroner's report was released. The Los Angeles County coroner's department determined that no drugs or alcohol was found in the actor's system. The coroner's report found that Walker's friend and business partner Roger Rodas, who was driving the car, also tested negative for alcohol. The autopsy found that Paul Walker's body was burned beyond recognition. The car was doing 100 mph at the time of the crash.

On November 30, Paul Walker and his longtime friend Roger Rodas died in a car explosion in Southern California. According to the report, the car crashed into a pole and several trees on Hercules Street in Santa Clarita. The force of the crash was so strong that the car continued spinning after the driver's side hit a light pole and tree. The car continued spinning until Walker's passenger side slammed into another tree and burst into flames. Walker had been in Santa Clarita for a fundraiser benefiting his charity Reach Out Worldwide.

The report says that "the driver lost control of his vehicle, and the vehicle partially spun around and began traveling in the southeast direction. The vehicle then struck a curb and the driver's side of the vehicle struck a tree and then a light post. The force of those collisions caused the vehicle to spin 180 degrees and begin traveling in an easterly direction. The passenger's side of the vehicle then struck another tree and burst into flames. The report says "It appeared that the vehicle was almost split in half."

The Los Angeles County Coroner's report found that the Porsche Carrera GT was exceeding speeds of over 100 MPH before the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. The limited-production, 2005 Porsche Carrera GT has a history of being difficult to control. It is capable of reaching 100 mph in under seven seconds. The sports car was built without the stability management system that comes in most Porsche models.

Rodas' and Walker's bodies were found braced for impact in a "pugilistic" stance. The report says there were no drugs or alcohol in Walker's system when he died. The report said Paul Walker suffered multiple fractures and said the cause of death was other traumatic and thermal injuries. Rodas  suffered multiple head injuries. The autopsy found that his skull was fractured and his brain was exposed.

The coroner's toxicology report also indicates that cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, MDMA and opiates were not detected in the pair.

The seventh installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise was still in production at the time of Walker's death. Universal stopped production. It is rescheduled for April 10, 2015.
