Windows 9 Release Could Be In April 2015, Would Bring Back Start Menu, Feature New Metro 2.0

After two years of Windows 8, is it recommended for Microsoft to make a Windows 9 release by April next year?

According to a report from GSM Arena, that is highly possible.

Paul Thurott, an expert in everything Windows, believes that Windows 9 may indeed be launched in April 2015. That means Microsoft will announce it during the Microsoft Build 2014 developer conference to build some hype.

But what would be in store for us in case Windows 9 does come out in 2015? According to Thurott, some of the expected features include the triumphant return of the Start Menu, as well as new version of the OS's live tiles, Metro 2.0, to get the attention of users who are already contemplating on swictching to a Mac.

Windows 8 was certainly an upgrade, but it was not what users were asking for.The 8.1 update did make the platform loveable to some extent, but it is still missing the Start menu, which more or less defines the entire Windows experience.

Let's wait and see whether Thurott's prediction of a Windows 9 release would come true.
