Smackdown Spoilers 1/17/14: WWE Results: The January 17 episode of Friday Night Smackdown was taped in DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The show was commentated by The Miz, JBL and Michael Cole.

The show kicked off with a tag team match between The New Age Outlaws battling it out against Cody Rhodes and Goldust for a non-title match. Both teams exchanged blows and did their usual antics until Vickie Guerrero entered the arena. The whole arena was filled with boos to the point that nobody could hear what Vickie was saying. When everything settled down, Guerrero reminded the wrestlers that in Royal Rumble it would be everyman for himself. As both teams were distracted with Vickie, Billy Gunn took the chance to pin Rhodes from behind for the win.

After the match, a promo was shown where CM Punk called out The Shield for a match later that night.

Paul Heyman next went out and just like Vickie Guerrero, he was greeted with a arena filled with boos before announcing that the return of Brock Lesnar will be on Raw. After which Big Show went out which scared Heyman to run out through the crowd and vowed that he will beat he living hell out of Lesnar in Royal Rumble.

All hell broke loose in the Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio match. Before the match, Mysterio broke in the ring cutting a promo mentioning Batista in the process but was cut out by Del Rio when he kicked his opponent to start the match. Mysterio was able to get the win but Del Rio beat Mysterio down after the bell sounded and locked Rey in an arm breaker until the referees broke them off.

Next match was a Divas match where Naomi won on against Tamina Snuka.

CM Punk called out The Shield and The New Age Outlaws once again saying it was a gift for the Authority to give them what they want.

The next match was a win for Big E Langston where he won after giving Fandango his finisher.

The main event was when CM Punk finally entered the ring calling out The New Age Outlaws and Shield and even calling Triple H to hide behind his wife. He even called The Authority a coward saying, "Unlike The Authority, I am not a coward". The Shield went around the ring followed by the New Age Outlaws. Kane went in to try and control the commotion but ended up beating Punk with everyone around the ring and finally giving him a choke slam.
