Actor Song Joong Ki is on his first break since joining the military.

On January 14, a source said, "Song Joong Ki has been on break since January 10, and spending the time quietly with family. He will return to the army within the mid-week."

In August 2013, actor Song Joong Ki said good-bye to a crowd of fans and entered the military. This is his first vacation in five months. Last August, he took basic training for five weeks in Kang Won Do, and then was ultimately assigned in November to the 22 Division to be part of the search crew unit.

The source continued, "Since this is his first time off, he wanted to keep it under wraps and have some time to himself. He will recuperate with family and then return to his division."

Song Joong Ki received praised by being the first person to enlist since the government abolished the controversial celebrity soliders unit. He is adjusting well to military life. According to peers, he works hard and shows leadership qualities within the division. The actor will be discharged from the army on May 26, 2015.
