Super Smash Bros. 4: King Dedede And Zelda To Features Strong Side Attacks As Masahiro Sakurai Reassures Fans Of 2014 Release Date

Although there hasn't been a confirmation of a release date, the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. 4 has a few more details for fans.

Most recently, two iconic Super Smash Bros. characters were confirmed for its roster of playable characters: Zelda and King Dedede.

Recently on the Nintendo Miiverse, Super Smash Bros. 4 director Masahiro Sakurai discussed both characters—specifically regarding their side attacks.

"Zelda's strong side attack. It's a slash attack that utilizes her magic to make even a simple slash look sharp," wrote Sakurai according to Mii Gamer.

But when it comes side attacks, most Super Smash Bros. fans will know that it is King Dedede who holds the punch.

"King Dedede uses one of the strongest side smash attacks in all of Smash Bros. Use this attack wisely in battles."

Of course, King Dedede will likely be considerably slower than the other playable characters, as is tradition in the franchise.

And although a release date has not been specified, Sakurai wants to reassure fans that it will be released in 2014.

"The new Super Smash Bros. games are expected to be released sometime in 2014. We're still working on beefing them up even more so please stay tuned," said Sakurai according to Examiner.

"We're at a stage where we'd like to release the new title as soon as possible, and offer something more enjoyable than ever."

It seems like Super Smash Bros. 4 is getting close to the final stages of preparations. Hopefully a release date will come soon for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.
