"Homeland" season 4 will feature some major changes, following Brody's death in season 3. Showtime entertainment president David Nevins gave some "Homeland" season 4 spoilers, teasing what we can expect from Carrie and Saul when the series premieres.

"We always knew we were heading towards a major reset," David Nevins said about going into "Homeland" season 4, during an appearance Thursday morning at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, TVLine reports.

While Nevins acknowledged that viewers' shock and dismay regarding Brody's death at the end of "Homeland" season 3 "didn't surprise me," Nevins praised the season for being "pretty brilliant in its architecture." Nevins said season 3 was unexpectedly prescient and "very clever and very audacious" in its take on changes in U.S./Iran relations, TVLine reports.

Nevins also revealed some "Homeland" season 4 spoilers.

"Homeland is a show that is deeply about a field operative (Carrie), and we haven't seen her much in the field," he said.

In season 4, we will "likely see her on the ground in a foreign capital doing her job."

And what about Saul?

"I expect that he will be central, he will be important," Nevins said.

"Homeland" creator Alex Gansa previously told Entertainment Weekly that, "There's no question this show is undergoing a major reinvention or reboot for season four."

Gansa also assured fans that Saul (Mandy Patinkin) will return to "Homeland" as a series regular.

"Everybody should rest assured that Mandy Patinkin is coming back as a series regular. I can tell you that with 100 percent certainty," Gansa promised. "Although he's not at a desk at Langley anymore, the CIA does outsource a lot of jobs to private contractors. He's going to be in that circle. He's still in the intelligence-gathering profession and the CIA could use somebody of his immense skills and knowledge for various intelligence work."
