It will be a renewal of rivalry as the Boston Celtics host the Los Angeles Lakers on the much-anticipated night of the team where star Rajon Rondo is set for a return after tearing his ACL when he last played almost a year ago.

"He'll probably be playing five minutes a quarter, approximately," Danny Ainge said via the team's official Twitter feed. "Knowing Rondo, he'll probably complain about that."

This rivalry, though, may be a different one as the Celtics no longer have their big three and the Lakes don’t have Kobe yet. All eyes will be on Rondo, who was the leader in assists when he averaged 10.2 assists per game since the 2008-09 season.

"I think the community is excited, as it should be, and the players are excited as well," coach Brad Stevens said.
"... He gets the ball to people better than anybody around. But I don't think we can expect him to be Game 7 Rajon Rondo."

The Lakers, meanwhile, despite losing players to injuries, added another problem to the team after the league suspended Nick Young after getting into a fight their last game. The team continues to struggle with the lack of players and lack of defensive presence.

"We're having trouble keeping up with athleticism in the open court and at the rim," coach Mike D'Antoni said. "... Defensively we have a hard time stopping people at the rim."
