‘X Men Days Of Future Past’ Plot Spoilers - Jennifer Lawrence Character Killed In The Movie? Oscar Best Actress Wants Out of Mutant Franchise! Is This The End Of Mystique?

Reality bites "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and its future sequels. Their main girl, Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult want to break free from their contracts with 20th Century Fox for the X-Men franchise. Will this mean the end of their onscreen counterparts?

Jennifer Lawrence Oscar win last year opened so many doors for more serious projects, but Lawrence is not only tied to the X-Men franchise, she is busy being the main star of "The Hunger Games." The dystopian movie franchise is aggressively shooting its sequels, and the recent announcement of director Bryan Singer of "X-Men: Apocalypse" will have her tied down.

Radar Online reported this situation citing an unnamed source: "Jennifer especially is losing millions of dollars by doing these movies when she could have her pick of juicy parts. Coming off of the success of 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' and with Oscar buzz mounting again for her part in 'American Hustle', she's more desirable to casting directors than ever. Singer's announcement on Twitter [that X-]Men: Apocalypse would be filmed for a May 2016 release 'caught them by surprise.' Jen knows 20th Century Fox, which produces the movies, is going to throw a lot of money at her to keep her involved in the franchise, but she's ready to move on. They are not fun movies for her to make, and the only thing she likes about them is hanging out with some of those other actors-especially her boyfriend, Nicholas!"

Mystique is probably a more important character than the Hoult's Beast, but there is a possibility that she might be killed in the sequel. They did not hesitate to knock off Rogue, so there are really no sacred cows.

From What Culture, a discussion on how DOFP will connect with Apocalypse led to a plotline where Mystique dies:

"The trailer for Days Of Future Past included a very obvious fight scene between Magneto and Mystique (where we see her being dragged along the floor towards him as above,) and it could be that Singer has reimagined Magneto's trigger as his being forced to kill Mystique when she turns on him to stop his plot to take out his target.

The way Magneto feels about Mystique - and particularly his insistence that she be true to her purer mutant form - could well lead to a stark realisation that he has to change his stance on mutant-human coexistence when she dies.

Regardless of how it happens, the change in Magneto is what inspires Apocalypse to attack the Earth to advance his own agenda of mutant control."

Is this how the story will go down? "X-Men: Days of Future Past" premieres on May 23, 2014.
