‘Bond 24’ News And Rumors: Blofeld Is The ‘Appropriate’ Villain? Themes From 'Skyfall' Will Continue In James Bond Franchise, Writer Says

"Skyfall" writer John Logan opened up about the latest "Bond 24" news and rumors, revealing what fans can expect in the latest James Bond installment. Will Blofeld be the villain in "Bond 24"?

John Logan spoke to IGN at this week's TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour about "Bond 24," which has a November 6, 2015 release date and will be helmed by "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes. Daniel Craig will also return to reprise his role as James Bond.

"Bond 24" news and rumors are scarce, due to a tight-lipped cast and crew. "All I can say about Bond is that I'm happily writing it" Logan said, joking that, "Sam [Mendes] would rappel through the window and kill me."

Logan did reveal that "Bond 24" will follow the path paved by "Skyfall."

"My goal is to write a great movie that's appropriate, to build on what we did on Skyfall, but make it its own unique animal," Logan said.

"The themes, ideas and the characters from Skyfall can obviously continue on, because it is a franchise, and it is an ongoing story. So I think there's resonance from Skyfall in the new movie."

Will Blofeld be the next villain in "Bond 24"? Producers recently settled a dispute over James Bond rights, meaning the SPECTRE leader Blofield could appear in the next James Bond installment.

"You know, I think our villain's appropriate to the story we're telling," Logan said slyly, in response to a question about Blofeld's return to the franchise, IGN reports.

Blofeld is one of the most famous villains in cinema, having appeared in six Bond films, Sky Movies reports. His iconic look - grey pantsuit, bald head, and a white cat in his lap - inspired the famous parody in the form of Doctor Evil in the Austin Powers series.
