Even though the Isles are in last place of the division, they are playing much better hockey of late. They have won eight out of their last 10 games.

"We gotta start winning some games in our division, so this is our opportunity now and we're playing much better hockey," captain John Tavares said as they will play three games against the Rangers over the next seven. "Looking forward to going in there (to Philadelphia), and they're playing well. Always a tough test."

Philly has hit a bump in the road, losing three of their last four games, but the line of Brayden Schenn centering Scott Hartnell and Wayne Simmonds have combined for 14 goals and 17 assists over the last 10 games, catapulting the Flyers into third place of the division.

Hartnell and Simmonds play almost the same style, but rather than get in each other's way, each has flourished, according to NHL.com.

"I think it helps," Simmonds recently said. "We know what we're going to do each and every time we're out there, so it makes it easier to read. Kind of know where the other guy is going to be if you're not in that position, so it's pretty easy."

Schenn and Simmonds have played together frequently since the Flyers acquired them in June 2011 from the Los Angeles Kings in the Mike Richards trade. Hartnell has been a recent addition, but it hasn't taken long for them to find their way on the ice, according to NHL.com.

"A lot of it is chemistry between the three of them," coach Craig Berube said after an optional practice Friday. "I think it took some time but they have got it now. Little things like puck support and battling in the corners for pucks, and people at the net all the time. All their goals are [because of] guys around the net."
