Anaheim scored two goals in the second period against the Sharks last night, but failed to pull off the comeback.

"We didn't come out and have the start we wanted," Kyle Palmieri, who scored last night, told ESPN.com. "A couple bounces and it could've gone the other way. It would've been a different game. Overall, I don't think we played our best for the first two periods. Against a team like that, you have to bring a 60-minute game."

Getzlaf scored and has five goals and seven assists over his last eight.

"Tomorrow night we get to go out and do it again," Palmieri said. "Hopefully we get off to a good start and go from there."

St. Louis is coming off a 4-1 loss on Thursday after allowing three goals in the third period.

"They rose to the occasion. We didn't," Hitchcock said. "I'm kind of getting sick of watching it. If we're going to figure this out, we're going to have to get more people coming up a lot bigger."

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"The Ducks are without goaltender Viktor Fasth (lower body) and defenseman Sheldon Souray, who had season-ending surgery on his right wrist Friday. Defenseman Luca Sbisa (wrist) was sent to Syracuse of the American Hockey League on Friday for a conditioning assignment. ... Blues forward Maxim Lapierre (lower body) is on injured reserve."
