Sony is poised to beef up its lineup of upcoming Sony phones in 2014 as leaked images of an Xperia Z1 successor surfaces.  

In a report by GSM Arena, leakster and XDA memvber iRimas recently posted alleged images of an upcoming Sony handset that is said to follow the footsteps of the Xperia Z1. 

However, the report suggests that the phone's model number, D6503 reveals that it is in fact a replacement to the midrange Xperia ZL. 

The mysterious Xperia phone reportedly boasts a 5.2-inch display with thinner bezels which are evident in the image above. Fortunately, it sports the same 20.7-megapixel camera sensor that is also equipped in the recently announced Xperia Compact and Z1s.
