Upcoming Android Phones 2014: The Lava Iris Pro 30 Is A Thin Droid, Boasts Midrange Specs, Weighs Only 114g, And Costs Just $260

There aren't many upcoming Android phones in 2014 that boasts its thin frame more than its other features. However, the new Lava Iris Pro 30 is an exception.

Launched by Indian phone maker Lava, the Iris Pro 30 is the first and flagship handset in the company's new lineup. And as you have predicted, it prides itself in having a thin frame.

Measuring only 7.5mm thick, the Iris Pro 30 is not the slimmest in the industry, but it is certainly refreshing to see a manufacturer focus on portability for better user experience.

According to the report from GSM Arena, the Iris Pro 30 sports a 4.7-inch IPS display from Sharp, runs a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, and packs a thin but capable 2,000mAh battery.

Lava also claims that the "One Glass Solution" it used for the Gorilla Glass made it much thinner than most glasses from handsets. As a result, Lava claims this provides 30 percent better battery life.

Other specs of the device include an 8MP rear camera that can shoot 1080p videos, and a 3MP front facer. The Iris Pro 30 will reportedly arrive in the Indian market in the next few weeks and will cost INR 16,000, or about $260.

As of the moment, details on international availability have not yet been confirmed.
