Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Iris Scanner For New Flagship Droid Deemed 'Non-Intuitive', Would Get Fingerprint Scanner Instead

If you are one of the millions of Android fans who are waiting for upcoming Samsung phones in 2014, then you should definitely check the new flagship for the Galaxy S lineup.

Aptly named the Galaxy S5, the upcoming Samsung phone is expected to exceed its precessor in terms of speed, performance, and even design.

For the past few months, we have heard from countless rumors that the new high-end device from the Korean manufacturer would have the world's first iris-scanning tech embedded in a smartphone.

Unfortunately, sources of the Korean Herald say that Samsung may ditch the iris sensor in favor of the fingerprint variation because using the former would be 'unintuitive', or impractical. It would be annoying for a user to place the phone close to his eyes just to scan his iris everytime he wants to unlock it.

Moreover, it would be difficult to use the technology in dark places or when the user has glasses on.

Meanwhile, the fingerprint sensor may be a go for the Galaxy S5.

So, even without the iris scanner, are you still rooting for the Galaxy S5?
