Male fitness model workout and inspiration: Bodybuilder, male fitness model and fitness expert Anthony Catanzaro shares in a 2009 interview with Bodybuilding.com’s David Robson the the power of the “V-Taper.” The 43-year-old fitness inspiration reveals how you can develop this to perfection.

Benefits of a V-Taper
Speaking with Bodybuilding.com, Tony says that bodybuilding is all about achieving a symmetrical, well balanced and defined body. The key is to have that much sought after V-Taper is at the top of a bodybuilder’s list.

Tony says that there’s nothing sexier than an awesome V-taper. He says that people ask him all the time how to have a V-taper like his. One key factor many people ignore is that their waistline is a key factor.

Key Things When Developing A V-Taper
When developing a V-Taper, it’s important to focus on keeping your waistline as small as possible. But at the same time, you need to build your deltoids, especially your lateral deltoids and your lateral triceps.

Individuals wanting to have a V-Taper must also not forget to develop lat muscles that are wide enough to fly. Having a V-Taper is not just focused on one particular muscle, it’s all of the above.

Tony says that his goal in fitness and bodybuilding is to always have an extremely small waist. He shares that we all have a small waist underneath all the fat and water we hold. Generally, our waistlines are very small.

Key Exercise To Start Developing V-Taper
If there’s one key exercise you can start doing today to get those V-Tapers, it’s the pull-ups. Tony calls it the “hang and bangs.” Done correctly, pull-ups would be the greatest for building and stretching those lats.

“I found that doing them twice a week with five sets to failure would do the trick,” Tony shares.

Keeping Your Waistline Small
Since a small waistline is one of the most essential elements in having a V-taper, its crucial to have knowledge on how to keep your waistline small. Tony shares there are two things one must do to have a small waistline.

  • Consume fewer calories than your body burns off.
  • Train your midsection

The fitness expert shares that you need to eat 300-500 calories per day and that alone will have your body fat dropping. You can then add 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill and 7 days a week and Tony says you can start seeing your pants falling off of you in a couple of weeks.

These are the very basics of how to have a V-Taper. More work is involved to get this much desired look, but these would start you off in your quest, Tony suggests.
