Upcoming Lenovo Laptops 2014: World's Top PC Maker Announces 2 Education-Centered Laptops, Can Be Purchased Running Either Windows 8 Or Chrome OS

There is no shortage of upcoming Lenovo laptops for 2014, as the Chinese manufacturer continues to release new devices that would cater to their consumers. But this time, two freshly-announced laptops will be on their way not to homes and offices, but schools.

According to a report by Android Authority, Lenovo announced two 11-inch ThinkPad laptops that would be aimed at the education sector. Dubbed as the ThinkPad 11e, and the ThinkPad Yoga 11e, these two devices will become available in schools, though the report did not mention any release dates as of the moment.

In the report, both devices can be purchased either running on Windows 8 or Chrome OS, and can be customized by BIOS modifications, laser engraving and custom imaging. For the ThinkPad 11e, retail prices begin at about $349 while the ThinkPad Yoga 11e is priced at $449.

While the ThinkPad 11e brings no new features to the table aside from respectable specs, its Yoga counterpart has more cards up its sleeve. The 11-inch device is the world's first Chromebook that has a hybrid design.

As for the battery endurance department, both devices will come with about 8 hours of battery life so school hours would surely be covered.

So are you willing to spend about $300 to $500 for a Chromebook for your child's education?
