Kate Moss Makes Hot Debut as British Vogue Editor; Shoots Steamy Rock and Roll Spread

Kate Moss is hot on the pages of British Vogue. The iconic heroin chic waif took her place on both sides of the camera for the March issue. Kate Moss has been the Vogue cover girl 33 times. This month she debuts as contributing fashion editor.

British Vogue released Kate's first shoot as contributing fashion Editor at British Vogue, starring Daria Werbowy.

Vogue has been teasing with images of Kate Moss' first shoot behind the camera as a runup to the issue hitting the shelves. When Vogue announced the that Moss was contributing editor last October they promised she would bring her decades of experience in the industry to fashion shoots and 'work with her choice of photographers and models'.

Fashionista.com reported that Kate Moss' first layout as a fashion editor, "Cause Celebre," in the March issue of British Vogue was inspired by Detroit art-punk icon Niagara.

When Kate contributed to Britain's Vogue, Moss took on "the complete role of fashion editor."

Bringing four fashion legends together, the shoot features model Daria Werbowy, is styled by Kate and is photographed by duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Speaking about the shoot, Ella Alexander of Vogue.co.uk, writes: 'Working with cover girl Werbowy and long-time friends and collaborators Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Moss creates a hazily beautiful world - with a healthy splash of the rock'n'roll cool that you would expect from the world's most photographed supermodel.'

In her editor's letter, Alexandra Shulman, Editor-in-chief of British Vogue, said "Possibly unsurprisingly an homage to renegade rock style. From gathering the initial mood board to talking me through the rail of clothes in the Vogue fashion room and adjusting the accessories on Daria Werbowy, Kate took on the complete role of fashion editor." Alexandra said Kate has slowed down her partying ways since she hit her 40th birthday on January 16. "Perhaps not every editor takes her model out partying the first night of the shoot."

On a shoot titled Cause Célèbre, Kate styled Ukrainian-Canadian model Daria Werbow. Moss drew from her rock and roll aesthetic. The photos took their inspiration from 1970s band Destroy All Monsters. Moss picked photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott  to capture the images. Kyle worked with the duo for her recent Playboy spread.

Mert told Style.com, "Oh, my God, it was a no-brainer. When Kate asked us to shoot her for Playboy's 60th anniversary issue, you know, we had to do it. We didn't have any hesitations. We were all in from the start. We've done a lot of things with Kate-a lot of role-playing, a lot of fashion pictures, a lot of personal pictures-and when we started this project, we asked ourselves what not to do".

One shot captures Daria sitting in the driver's seat of a convertible car with the top down. She's wearing fishnet tights, a studded mini dress and black leather fingerless gloves. Her hair is streaked with punky red.

Kate Moss is no stranger to Vogue. Since she was 19, Kate Moss has heated up 34 covers of British Vogue. For the March issue, Moss took the helm as  the contributing fashion editor.
