‘EXO’s Showtime’ Teen Viewership Rating Record

"EXO's Showtime" sadly came to an end, but they concluded the show on a high note.

According to MBC Every1 on the 14th, the February 13th broadcast of "EXO's Showtime" aired its last episode, and recorded the highest viewing rate of 1.6% (according to Nielsen Korea national basis) and average ratings of 1.33%.

In particular, the main target of female teens recorded a high of 6.1% and an average of 5%, achieving number 1 of all shows in that time slot.

The show is a Q&A variety program in which viewers submit their questions, to which EXO answers with their direct actions. Right from the start the show was based on the group's interaction with their fans, which quickly made them a hot issue and made them extremely popular among the viewers. It doesn't hurt that the group is already so popular.

Starting with its first episode on November 28th, the show kept recording higher ratings, especially from teen female fans and even women in their 20s through the 40s.

Before and after each week's broadcast, the show became the number 1 search query on several portal sites, proving the show's immense popularity.

Mainstream entertainment Kris, scaredy-cat Tao, and manly Xiumin appeared as 20 year old youths in a light that was quite different from their onstage charisma. Their unique offstage characters helped them solidify and gain even more fans through the show.

MBC Every1's PD Yoon Mi Jin stated, "EXO is already a leading idol group in Korea, but our goal was to help shorten the distance between the stars and their fans through 'EXO's Showtime.' The group was able to meet the needs of their fans through the web and SNS, responding right away to the new generation's requests."
