2NE1 'CRUSH' Album Release Will Be Postponed By Two Days

At midnight on February 19th KST, YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun Suk announced that there would be a two day delay in the release of 2NE1's second studio album. The album which was scheduled to be released on February 24th at midnight has been pushed back two days to February 26th at midnight. This announcement comes on the morning of the music video release for Girls' Generation's comeback Mr. Mr. Yang Hyun Suk sited in his announcement through YG Life, "The reason for the urgent change of date is to release the album on a more special day instead, as CL's birthday falls on February 26th, especially because whopping three songs composed and written by CL for the first time are included in the 2nd album."

In addition to making an announcement regarding a change in the release date, Yang Hyun Suk provided details for two of the upcoming tracks. The first title song from the upcoming 2NE1 album, Come Back Home, shares the name of the hit 1995 Seo Taiji and The Boys song. However, Yang Hyun Suk pointed out that 2NE1's Come Back Home, "is completely different, filled with melody and lyrics about yearning for a long-gone lover." The track is produced by YG Entertainment's hit maker, Teddy, and will reflect influences of hip-hop, reggae, and R&B. Yang Hyun Suk went on to note that there will also be an acoustic or unplugged version of Come Back Home included on the album. Two versions of a music video for Come Back Home will be released on February 28th.

The second track to be released from the album will be Gotta Be You. Gotta Be You will highlight the strong vocals of 2NE1's Bom, with production by Teddy and PK. Gotta Be You is noted to be an uptempo single that will appeal to widespread audiences.

Following the release of Gotta Be You will be the music video release for the track Happy, which was filmed in the United States. Yang Hyun Suk goes on to point out that the entire track list for 2NE1's CRUSH will be released on February 20th.

The delay in the album release should aid 2NE1 in promotional activity. The last week in February is shaping up to be a fierce period for K-Pop releases, with Girls' Generation releasing their comeback album on February 24th, along with CNBLUE. CNBLUE's Can't Stop is currently topping charts for its pre-sale figures, with FNC Entertainment releasing promotional materials for the comeback on a daily basis. In addition, B.A.P has won their last two music chart show performances for their promotional activities surrounding the release 1004 (Angel).
