Friends Reunion 2014: Matt LeBlanc Good With `Friends’ Past; Jennifer Aniston Would Need New Haircut; Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry Reunite

Friends Reunion 2014: Jennifer Aniston is still holding out on a Friends reunion while she plays in the emotionally jarring independent movie "Cake." Matt LeBlanc is good with his "Friends" past even as he makes fun of it on "Episodes." Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox reunite on Cougar Town.

Rumors have been swirling about a "Friends" reunion this year. Gossip started with reports that Jennifer Aniston was the last holdout to a "Friends" reunion. Then, a fan poster depicting a "Friends" reunion episode drew the ire of fans.

When Jennifer Aniston went on a vacation with Courteney Cox, people thought they were talking about a reunion. There will be a sort of reunion for Friends when Matthew Perry joins Courteney Cox on her show "Cougar Town." Jennifer Aniston is still reported to be the last holdout.

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox developed a strong friendship during their stint in the popular sitcom. Since then, Jennifer Aniston has gone through a painful divorce with husband Brad Pitt in 2005, and Courteney Cox got separated from David Arquette after a 14-year long marriage.

Courteney Cox says her ex-husband had a perfect strategy for a "Friends" reunion, whether she brought that up to Jennifer Aniston is anyone's guess. Courteney said David Arquette used to have a great idea and he said, 'What if you guys do an episode of Friends every Thanksgiving. Just come back for that one week to say what is everyone doing in the last year. And we didn't listen, we didn't do it, so now it's too late."

Matthew Perry, who played Courteney's on-screen husband in Friends and who is now working her new show Cougar Town, said "We're so comfortable. The only difficulty was to remind ourselves that we don't know each other, in this episode. We're strangers that meet. I lose my insurance, my car insurance, because I'm not that bright, and I end up hitting his car and then I have to flirt my way out of it and hope that he won't ... claim it, because I can't pay it."

Jennifer Aniston is still said to be the last holdout to a "Friends" reunion. But it looks like "Rachel" will be too busy. Jennifer Aniston, hot off her role in "We're the Millers" will star in "Cake." Jennifer will play Claire Simmons, "a woman who becomes fascinated by the suicide of Nina, a woman in her chronic pain support class" who is "acerbic" and "hilarious."

"Cake" director Daniel Barnz said "Of the zillions of Jennifer Aniston fans, I might be the biggest one of all. I've especially loved her more dramatic performances, and I can't wait to watch her tackle a role that has such a brilliantly funny voice and so much raw pain (hats off to writer Patrick Tobin). I'm honored to be collaborating with Ben, Kristin and Courtney, and it's exciting that Cake will be the first film under the Cinelou banner. It feels like we're all taking a leap of faith together, and that's pretty thrilling."

Matt LeBlanc who played Joey Tribbiani, says he still watches old "Friends" episodes. Matt LeBlanc told E!, "If I'm cruising around and it pops up, I'll stop to see which one it is. And sometimes I'll say, "What is this? I don't remember it." And then it will take me a second and then I'll go... 'No, I still don't remember this.'"

LeBlanc says he's "extremely proud of Friends. I think we had a great run, it was a lot of fun. We all stuck together. Accomplished a lot of things. It changed the course of my life forever. My kid's life. My grandchildren's lives. "

On his Showtime series "Episodes," where he plays Matt LeBlanc, the actor, a version of himself who can't get past his "Friends" days, he's stuck on a show called "Pucks," which only go made on his name. And was ruined by Joey Tribbiani as more and more compromises were made to make the British writers' show more palatable to American audiences.

In the Boston Common's Spring Fashion issue, LeBlanc says the Matt he's playing in "Episodes" is a " fictitious character, and you just have to approach it that way. He just happens to have the same name I do. When we were coming up with who the character was going to be, I thought it would be fun-since our salaries were all published during Friends-to make this Matt LeBlanc way, way wealthier than me."

Matt LeBlanc played Joey Tribbiani for 10 seasons on "Friends." Matt LeBlanc is good with that.

LeBlanc told Boston Common "I'll always be known for Friends-so will Matthew [Perry], David [Schwimmer], Courteney [Cox]. It's OK with me. I can only speak for myself, but I'm very proud of it. I wouldn't do anything differently."
