"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the couple told People magazine on Monday in a statement.

Did Miley Cyrus cause their divorce? No one can forget the risque performance of "Blurred Lines" during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, when Miley Cyrus twerked all over Thicke and rubbed their bodies with a foam finger.

While many were thinking of what Paula Patton was feeling during the shocking performance, this was probably not the cause of their divorce. In fact, Patton was a fan of their "Blurred Lines" performance.

"(Miley and Robin) rehearsed for three days, and Robin told me in advance," Patton told TODAY about the prep for the performance. "I've got to be honest with you: I don't know what people thought Miley was going to do - I mean, sit down and play piano?"

"It was shocking to me," she explained. "You know what is so funny? He finished, and I was like, 'That was great! You guys killed it!' ... Woke up the next morning, it was like, I got all these texts, like, 'Praying for you,' 'Hey, I'm here for you.' I'm like, 'What?!'"

"I don't know if you guys have been to a club lately, but that's how girls dance at the club," she said. "My friends dance with him like that. It's just what they do," she added

Perhaps that is how girls dance at the club - Robin Thicke was photographed grinding up close and personal to a young mystery woman on the dance floor of a Paris nightclub last month. According to the New York Daily News, in some pictures it looks like Thicke is kissing the woman while they grind together at Paris' Club 79.

And in September, a woman named Lana Scolaro claimed Thicke cheated on his wife with her at a New York nightclub, the New York Daily News reports.

"His hands were everywhere. He was grabbing me. He was like, 'I want to get you into bed!'" she said.

Scolaro said things did not go any further because the two were repeatedly interrupted.

Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton first met when Thicke was 14, and have have been married since 2005. They have one son, Julian Fuego, who was born in April 2010.
