The producers of the South Korean version of Saturday night live apologized Tuesday for a sketch in this week's episode mocking foster children adopted in other countries.

But Saturday Night Live is no stranger to controversy. Just this week, Lena Dunham got flak for appearing naked in a Biblical sketch about Adam and Eve. In spite of the scintillating skit, the "Girls" star hosted the second lowest viewed night of the long-running skit comedy series. Here Are The top five scandals the original SNL has ever experienced.

Norm MacDonald Drops the F-Bomb

Norm MacDonald was a member of Saturday Night Live's Not Ready For Prime Time Players for five seasons. The Canadian comedian moved up to the anchor position on Weekend Update for three years. In late 1997, MacDonald accidentally dropping the F-Bomb on live TV. MacDonald wasn't specifically fired for the gaff, but because NBC West Coast Executive Don Ohlmeyer thought Macdonald was "not funny." In an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Macdonald revealed he could not "do anything else on any competing show" after the SNL firing.

Cypress Hill Lights Up a Joint

Were they insane in the membrane? Rap group Cypress Hill got themselves permanently banned from SNL after their October 2, 1993 musical guest stint. After the performing the song "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That," DJ Muggs showed how the band was going out, lighting up a blunt on the air while band trashed their instruments.

SNL Skit Makes Light of Domestic Violence

In 2009, Tiger Woods admitted that he was messing around on his wife, the former model Elin Nordegren, a lot. The former Mrs. Woods didn't take a Mulligan for the clip shot, according to media reports, Nordegren beat the hell out of Tiger.

SNL went out on a limb because they thought that was funny.  Kenan Thompson played Tiger Woods making his confession in front of the press while his wife Elin, played by host Blake Lively, stood by her man.

After each confessed transgression, the camera pulls back to reveal that Tiger suffered a pummeling. To add fuel to the scandalous sketch, the musical guest that night was Rihanna, herself a victim of domestic abuse.

Lana Del Rey's Embarrassing SNL Performance

Lana Del Rey was an Internet sensation after her breakout single, "Video Games," racked up 13 million views on YouTube. But she had very little experience when she was the musical guest for SNL host Daniel Radcliffe. Even Harry Potter couldn't have saved that performance.

Sinéad O'Connor Rips Up a Picture of the Pope

Sinéad O'Connor was Saturday Night Live's musical guest on October 3, 1992. She was performing an a cappella version of Bob Marley's classic anthem "War" with the lyrics changed to focus on child abuse in the Roman Catholic church. At the end of the song, O'Connor unceremoniously ripped a photo of Pope John Paul II in half.

SNL's producers were caught off guard because she ended the songs in rehearsal by holding a picture of a refugee child.

O'Connor said she got the idea to rip up the Pope's picture from a Boomtown Rats performance on Britain's Top of the Pops. Singer Sir Bob Geldoff ripped up a photo of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

A week after the performance, Goodfellas star Joe Pesci ripped a picture of Sinéad O'Connor in half.

To this day, O'Connor's stands by her protest of the Roman Catholic Church.
