Akdong Musician expressed their delight at news of their #1 ranking.

Akdong Musician stated in an interview regarding their debut stage on the April 10 show of Mnet "M Countdown": "It's quite nerve-wracking to be on a stage other than the K-Pop Star stage. We're debut artists, but we've already released a few songs in the past, so we feel as if we're comeback artists".

Akdong Musician also expressed their gratitude to fans: "We were quite surprised at the enthusiastic response of music fans. It felt strange to see our names on the top of the music charts".

When asked what they would do if they won the first place trophy, they stated: "We haven't thought about that yet, but we'll dance if we do".

Meanwhile, Akdong Musician killed all music charts with their release of debut album PLAY on April 7. They also placed #1 on Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore's iTunes.
