Akdong Musician won first place on "Inkigayo" after their victory on "M Countdown".

Akdong Musician placed first on SBS "Inkigayo", which did not air on April 20. This was their second trophy after the April 17 airing of Mnet's "M Countdown".

The show was canceled due to the sinking of Sewol; the rankings were posted online - runner-up for first place was High4 and IU's "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms", while A-PINK's "Mr.Chu" took third. Akdong Musician's "Give Love" followed closely on fourth place.

Akdong Musician's new track has been ranked #1 even after two weeks of release. The song has received #1 on various music programs and music charts, with additional tracks such as "200%", "Melted", Give Love", and "Artificial Grass" also ranked on top tiers.

Akdong Musician is a South Korean duo, consisting of siblings Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Soo-hyun. They are known as the winners of the second installment of the K-pop Star series, which is a music audition TV program in South Korea. Out of tens of thousands of applicants, the winner is chosen through a series of competition judged by a panel and audience voting. 

During this series of K-pop Star 2, the judges of the show, including BoA of SM Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk of YG Entertainment, and Park Jin-young of JYP Entertainment, praised their vocal ability as well as their ability to write creative lyrics.

Since winning K-pop Star 2, Akdong Musician was signed to YG Entertainment, of which one of the judges of K-pop Star 2, Yang Hyun-suk, is the president.

Its debut album placed second in the Billboard's World Album Chart, following Ireland's cross-over group, Celtic Woman.

It is very refreshing to see an indie folk group to be taking over the Korean pop charts, in the midst of main stream pop artists such as 2NE1 and Girls' Generation. Although major label produced albums are the main focus of Korean pop music, bands like Akdong Musician are bringing creativity back to the scene to the market that is full of commercial based music that has been infiltrating the ever so evolving K-Pop scene.
