The biggest trade rumor so far involves a superstar swap between the two most expensive franchises in the league. Carmelo Anthony in a trade for Kobe Bryant seems impossible, but if anyone can make it happen, it's Phil Jackson!

Kobe Bryant has been the undisputed face of the Lakers franchise since Shaquille O'Neal left in 2005. He has spent his entire career with the franchise and won 5 titles. It's no joke for him to leave.

Carmelo Anthony has started his career with the Denver Nuggets until he forced a trade to the New York Knicks. This season marks the first time he is ending his season in April.

Both players are used to winning and they finished the season on a very sour note with their respective teams losing records. Kobe was largely absent due to an injury while Carmelo had a great individual season. However, Carmelo's teammates seemed unmotivated.

There is a growing sentiment that the Knicks don't really lack talent. They don't need someone who can simply accumulate individual statistics-they need someone who can motivate his teammates with the will to win..someone like Kobe Bryant. Phil Jackson knows this more than anybody else.

The NY Times suggested as much: "Now, in his first attempt to be a front-office executive, Jackson will need at least one player with an indomitable will to win, one capable of transforming the culture of an organization and a fan base that has become too accustomed to mediocrity and frustration. That player would be Bryant.

Jackson needs to talk Bryant into somehow joining him in New York for one last great mission in both of their careers: setting the table for the Knicks to win another championship.

One way that can happen is for the Knicks to work out the trade of all trades - Bryant for Carmelo Anthony."

It sounds like a fantasy trade but it can actually happen. There will be questions about Kobe's age, but not his talent or his work ethic. Meanwhile, Carmelo will get another change of scenery after all but giving up on his team.
