Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 Is A 6" Android Phablet With Lower Midrange Specs, Packs Dual-Core CPU, 512MB RAM, Costs About $140

Micromax Canvas Doodle 3: Indian manufacturers are slowly becoming a force to reckon with in the Android competition, and that is due to the decent specs and aggressive pricing of their handsets. Now, one of its top mobile phone makers has just unveiled a new phablet with an affordable price tag.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Micromax has unveiled its Canvas Doodle 3 and will soon be available in India for only INR 8,500 or just around $140.

With this very cheap price, what does this Android-powered device has to offer?

In the report, the Micromax smartphone's specs include a 6-inch display with FWVGA (854 x 480) resolution, good for a pixel density of 163.

Also on board is a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, a MediaTek chipset, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. If you think that storage is not enough, then you would be happy that Micromax included a microSD card slot that is capable of supporting up to 32GB of expanded storage.

In addition, there is also a 2,500mAh battery to power the 6-inch display. In the report, Micromax claims this battery to last up to 9 hours in talk time.

At the back of the Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 is a 5 megapixel camera that has an LED flash. There is also a 0.3MP front facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is certainly outdated, though considering the price, it may be an alright deal for some. Hopefully, the company would release an update at least to version 4.4.

In the report, the phone is also pre-loaded with some premium games to add more value to the deal. The Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 would be available in Indian stores and retailers beginning on April 25.
