With the entire nation of Korea in mourning, the entertainment industry has all shut down.

News is still dominating the airwaves as the nation awaits good news about the survivors of the Sewol Ferry incident. Entertainment programs have all but come to a halt.

After a week of news-only broadcasting, broadcasting companies are slightly easing up on it's dramas, allowing drams to air in their original time slots. "God's Gift - 14 Days" ended the series on time. "Three Days" aired the 13th episode after two days of cancellation. Other dramas such as "Cunning Single Lady" and "Golden Cross" have also resumed airing.

Entertainment programs - especially reality programs - have not yet resumed broadcasting. Some programs, such as "Infinite Challenge", have stopped filming altogether.

"Roommate" assembled an all-star crew with the 'share-house' concept, but they have not been able to air their first episode yet. The airing date is still undecided. The problem is that reality TV programs need to have real conversations, and any conversations outside of the ferry incident will be communicated negatively to a sensitive viewer base.

The producers of "Law of the Jungle" have completed their initial surveys of their next destination, but they are unsure of when they can take the crew over to start filming. This is a concern because their current Borneo episode is about to come to an end.

It's understandable, of course. Even the producers of various entertainment programs fully agree that the time is not right to air entertainment shows, wishing for the best results from the rescue operations.

Complications will arise, however, if these delays are prolonged. A major concern is that programs slated to debut or revamp in late April/early May will be delayed, causing overlaps in schedules.

Upcoming programs such as MBC's "The Way of Comedy" are also delayed until further notice. It seems that the viewers will have to wait a longer period of time than expected for their favorite show to come back.
