New Android Phones 2014: ThL's 6" Octa-Core Smartphone Beats Galaxy Note 3 And LG G2 In Raw CPU Performance, Pricing Could Go As Low As $269.99

New Android phones 2014: When Samsung launched the very first phablet three years ago, a lot of people thought that it was too big to be used, especially that smartphones and feature phones then can be used conveniently by one hand.

Fast forward to 2014 and we see that almost half of the announced devices today are phablets which mean their screen sizes begin at 5.5 inches and beyond.

If you love to try out an Android phablet but your budget does not allow you do so, then you may want to check out ThL's newest smartphone.

Dubbed as ThL T200, the smartphone packs an enormous 6-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and that's just half the story.

According to the review by Android Authority, the smartphone's build and design actually make it bigger than it already is - which could be a plus or minus depending on the market.

Running inside the T200 is what it calls a 'true' octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM and a Mali-450 GPU for impressive graphics-intensive processes.

Interestingly, while the ThL T200's overall chipset does not stand a chance against higher-end models, it beats the Galaxy Note 3 and the LG G2 in terms of 'pure CPU' performance. That means the particular benchmarking app (e.g. CF Bench) does not take into account the GPU, but only the CPUs used.

On the imaging side, the ThL T200 packs a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front facing camera that should be a treat for selfie lovers out there. Also on board is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. We sure hope ThL would upgrade the device to Kitkat soon.

While the Android phablet gets a 2,500mAh battery, it isn't enough to fuel the device for an entire day with heavy use. But considering the reported price tag of under $300, that may not be a factor at all. Take some time looking around the Web and you may even get the T200 for as low as $269.99.
