Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date For Samsung Smartphones Leaked, Galaxy S3 LTE, Note II LTE, Note 3 Neo Getting Update This Month

Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date: Kitkat has already been around for a while now, but it looks like Jelly Bean is still the top Android version currently in the market, as well as in people's hands. Samsung may not be well known in the past for supporting two-year old devices, but here it is.

According to a report by Android Community, a leaked document straight from Samsung's fence surfaced courtesy of reliable leaker of everything Samsung SamMobile.

In the document, several Samsung devices are pegged to get the Android Kitkat treatment, including two-year old flagships such as the Galaxy S3 LTE and the Note 2 LTE, which gets the update any time this month.

Versions of the previous Galaxy S4 flagship, the S4 mini are also getting the new Android version beginning in June. Meanwhile, other midrange smartphones and phablets are expected to get Android Kitkat by the end of June.

The newly released Galaxy Note 3 Neo, which made its debut in January at CES 2014 will also get Kitkat as well.

Sadly, the international version of the Galaxy S3, the one without LTE connectivity will see the end of its support in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Still, its owners can just check out the XDA Developers forum if you want to keep your smartphone fresh inside, though remember that you are doing it at your own risk.

The leaked document SamMobile's post says that it is Phase 4. We don't know whether there will be a fifth phase, but it is good to know that Samsung is finally learning from its past mistakes, and providing better services and prolonged software support even to older devices.

By the way, here is the leaked Samsung document which shows the estimated release dates for Galaxy devices:
