iPhone 6 Rumors: Design Of New Apple Smartphone Similar To iPod Touch [PHOTOS]

iPhone 6 rumors: For the past couple of years, the iPhone has not seen much change in terms of design, except for the iPhone 5c which came in with rounded corners and a plastic case. However, there should always be a first time for everything, and for the upcoming iPhone 6, rumors have it that the handset would be more like a bigger iPod Touch than the previous gen iPhone 5s.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the guys at Macitynet.it have been comparing its iPhone 6 dummy to almost anything popular right now, including the Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 5s. However, when they paired against an iPod Touch, the design of both devices are noticeably similar.

Based on the dimensions leaked all over the Web, Macitynet.it managed to make a dummy handset to show us how the new Apple would look like, more or less.

Unlike the iPhone 5s, the iPhone 6 is rumored to get more rounded edges, but still built using the standard aluminum casing Apple has always been known for.

With a display measuring 4.7 inches, the Cupertino could have figured out that people would find it more comfortable to hold a rounded smartphone rather than a box-type unit.

Here are some images of the iPhone 6 dummy compared with the iPod Touch:

Meanwhile, the guys from French website www.nowhereelse.fr also came up with an iPhone 6 of their own and compared it with the iPhone 5s. As you can see from the images below, the upcoming iPhone is expected an overall rounded look from all sides, while the iPhone 5s has sharp edges on all ends.

Aside from the 4.7-inch display version, another iPhone 6 variant is also expected to hit the market by the end of the year. And as rumors go, it would be a phablet, the first in Apple history with its 5.5-5.7-inch display.

Other speculations include a new and faster A8 chip that still supports 64-bit applications, iOS 8, water resistance, an improved Touch ID home button, and more.

Apple's WWDC event is just around a corner, and we expect the Cupertino manufacturer to at least provide us some details about its newest iPhones.
