Nokia Lumia 930 Release Date: Last Nokia Flagship Expected To Hit Stores On June 24, Together With Windows Phone 8.1 Release Date

Nokia Lumia 930 release date: Since the BUILD conference more than a month ago, Nokia and Windows Phone fans have already been waiting for the high-end Lumia 930. While there has not been an official release date mentioned, the smartphone would surely be released once Windows Phone 8.1 becomes live.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Microsoft will officially roll out the Windows Phone 8.1 update to supported devices on June 24.

In a statement released by Microsoft, the update would be implemented on devices whose lifecycles began up to 36 months ago.

Here's the official press release:

Microsoft will make updates available for the Operating System, including security updates, for a minimum of 36 months after the lifecycle start date. These updates will be incremental, with each update built on the update that preceded it. Customers need to install each update in order to remain supported. The distribution of these incremental updates may be controlled by the mobile operator or the phone manufacturer from which you purchased your phone, and installation will require that your phone have any prior updates. Update availability will also vary by country, region, and hardware capabilities.

In case you missed Microsoft's BUILD conference, the new version of Windows Phone OS would surely encourage consumers from other platforms to try it out. Some of the key features include a more flexible way for homescreen customization, the notification center, and Cortana voice assistant.

As for the Lumia 930, it is simply the international version of the Lumia 929, which debuted several months back, but is only exclusive from Verizon Wireless.

The Windows Phone-powered handset packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, and a non-expandable 32GB of built-in memory.

Also on board is a 20MP CarlZeiss camera and dual-LED flash for top notch quality images and video recording features.
