Moto E Release Date, Price: Specs Of New Motorola Handset Include 4.3" Display, 1GB RAM, 5MP Camera, Costs Just £89

Moto E release date: True to previous rumors, Motorola's new affordable handset has indeed made its debut today, May 13, in separate events in London in the UK, and New Delhi in India.

And from what we know so far, the Moto E is not one to disappoint.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android powered is now official, and it packs some pretty good specs for its price range.

The Motorola Moto E boasts a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass 3 display that is scratch resistant, and has qHD (960 x 540) screen resolution, a dual-core Cortex- A7 CPU running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and a 4GB internal memory, of which only 2.26GB are user accessible.

Good thing the Moto E comes with a microSD card slot unlike its predecessor, the original Moto G. The new affordable Motorola handset is capable of supporting up to 32GB of storage.

In the camera department, the Motorola Moto E packs a decent 5MP shooter but lacks a front facing cam, probably to cut down production costs. Also on board are the usual connectivity functions such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. For Android fans who love dual-SIM devices, there is also a Moto E variant that offers such feature.

Meanwhile, those who prefer to get the latest Android version would not be disappointed as the Moto E comes with Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box. The phone also runs on a 1,980mAh battery that can reportedly power the smartphone for an entire day with moderate to heavy usage.

So right now, it all comes down to price. Just like the Moto G, the Moto E is aimed at the mass market, and so the Lenovo-owned manufacturer has kept the costs as low as possible.

In the report, the Moto E launched in the UK at only £89 or about €110. The same pricing will be applied when the phone is officially released in Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Canada.

Meanwhile, Indian retailer Flipkart will offer the Moto E in the Asian subcontinent for only Rs. 6999 or just $117.
