Upcoming LG Phones 2014: Is The Korean Phone Maker Rejoining The Windows Phone Party?

Upcoming LG phones 2014: LG may be one of the top OEMs in the Android sphere, but apart from that it does not offer any other platform, unlike Samsung which have already launched another WP-powered device, and Sony which reportedly have begun developing its own Windows Phone smartphone.

However, a new leaked image tells us that the Korean tech company may be working on a Windows Phone device after all.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the ever vigilant EV Leaks has done it again and released what appears to be a Windows Phone smartphone from LG.

Dubbed simply as the LG Uni8, the device looks similar to most Windows Phones from Nokia because of the transparent tiles, but it has the popular LG branding below the screen to make it stand out.

In the report, the LG Uni8 will probably be a phablet sized smartphone, because of the size of the virtual buttons below the screen and above the LG logo.

While we do not have any specs details yet, the LG Uni8 could get what the Lumia 930 has - a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, and 2GB of RAM.

As for release date rumors, one of the upcoming LG phones in 2014 may be launched just in time for the Windows Phone 8.1 official release on June 24.

Microsoft is slowly doing a better job improving its own mobile OS. And with new features such as the new notification center, new ways for customization, the super quick swipe on-screen keypad, and Cortana voice assistant, Windows Phone 8.1 could very become a highly anticipated OS.

And compared to other platforms like iOS and Android which have reached their full potential through various updates in the past, Windows Phone still has a long way to improve.
