Moto G Ferrari Edition Launched, Back Cover Made Out Of Kevlar, Specs Incl. 4.5" Display, 16GB Storage, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE

Moto G Ferrari edition: The Motorola Moto G is certainly one of the best selling Android smartphones today, and with the recent launch of the improved Moto G LTE that supports 4G connections and gets a microSD card slot, it is just a fitting addition to the affordable smartphone lineup from Motorola.

In the same event, an even cheaper handset also made its debut, the Moto E, which packs similar specs to the Moto G, but only with a dual-core CPU and probably less features than the original.

While these two additions are already great for Motorola, the company also launched another variant of the Moto G.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Motorola Moto G Ferrari Edition was announced only in Mexico, well that's because it is the only market getting the device for now.

So what's so special about this version?

In the report, the Moto G is protected by Kevlar, especially the back side which can get damaged in falls. In addition, the Ferrari edition will also get better design, an accent of red on the phone's speakers and sides, and of course the Ferrari branding.

The Moto G Ferrari Edition is said to be based on the 16GB edition of the Moto G LTE version which launched in London and India a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, the cheap pricing is not so cheap anymore due to the Kevlar back and some aesthetic changes.

In the GSM Arena report, the Motorola G Ferrari edition will cost MXN4,999 or about $387 and would arrive in the Mexican market in June. Unfortunately, there were no details or reports hinting that the device would be released to other markets as well.

Are you going to spend that much in a midrange phone that only looks better than the original?
